3RDSENSE in the News - B&T Gamification Feature

3RDSENSE was in the news last week when our CEO, Colin Cardwell, was quoted extensively in B&T's feature on gamification.

The feature on gamification draws on comment from Colin, giving an introduction to the concept and examining how brands are integrating the strategies and motivators of games to acquire customers and keep them loyal.

One of the biggest features of gamification is that it rewards customers for purchasing without necessarily incurring additional cost for the reward and without price discounting. As Colin points out:

“The rise and rise of the daily deal sites is driving prices and profits down. I think what gamification offers brands is an alternative way of maintaining loyalty without necessarily discounting, without necessarily driving price down.”

He adds: “With some recent projects that we’ve launched, we’ve seen games absolutely driving back to real business benefits, direct sales effectively, or revenue generation, rather than just, what we’ve probably done more of in the past, which is to use games just as forum to say ‘Hey, here’s our brand’.”

The feature also looks at a couple of examples of brands using gamification strategies successfully and predicts that demand for gamification services is just about to hit Australia. You can read the full article here.
