Social Bookmarking Site for Casual Games Launches

We're proud to announce the launch of www.millionsofgames.com , a social bookmarking site for casual online games. The site is a first of its kind in the casual games space. We were were inspired by sites like of del.icio.us and flickr.com and being in the business of casual games, we recognised the need for a 'social bookmarking' or 'community tagging' site for casual online gamers.

Millionsofgames.com or 'MOG' provides users access to an ever growing list of online casual games. After joining, which is free, members can 'Mog' games and create their personal list of favourite games. Members can also see who else has Mogged a game and other members' lists of favourite games.

One of the most innovative features of the site is the way it tracks 'Mogs' and 'Plays' and using a proprietary algorithm determines both the popularity of the games and the activity of the Moggers and provides dynamic ranking for both. The popularity ranking, along with every thing else the site knows about a game can be found in the Gameology.

Members can quickly and easily add new games to the site (and their own list of favourites) from any where on the web using a special 'bookmarklet' takes them back to Millionsofgames.com and pre-fills in the data entry form, leaving them to just check it, rate the game, choose a category and a couple of keywords.

Millionsofgames.com already has over 1800 games Mogged and some interesting game play and popularity patterns are starting to emerge.

The site is in beta at the moment, with many new features rolling out over the coming months. A full version of the site is planned towards the beginning of 2006.

Director, Colin Cardwell said, "The popularity of casual games is growing exponentially at the moment. Millionsofgames.com gives casual games enthusiasts a free tool to help them make sense of the millions of games that are out there, they can find the latest games, keep track of their favourites and share what they know with other members. We're very excited about what this can do for casual game developers too, if you want to promote your game, this is the place to do it."
