aussieBum - Ride the Ram

aussieBum is a company that likes to push the boundaries. Part of its latest marketing campaign was to take Tom Robert’s famous painting Shearing the Rams, update it and give it an aussieBum slant.

The Brief

aussieBum contracted 3RD sense Australia to develop a ‘Riding the Ram’ game that would stay true to the Shearing the Rams marketing campaign. The game should be simple to play yet tough to master, quirky and entertaining, be annoyingly addictive and most importantly encourage exploration of the aussieBum website and increase sales.

The Solution

The game is based on a ‘real world’ mechanical bull riding competition. In this game though, players will have to ‘Ride’ a Ram for as long as they can. The online game will function like a mechanical bull, starting slowly and getting progressively faster with increasingly random movements. In addition, players will be awarded a bonus for staying whilst waving their cowboy hat in the air or releasing both hands.

A player’s score will be based on the number of seconds they are able to stay on the ram.

Score high enough and you are eligible for discount aussieBum vouchers redeemable on the website.

To ensure the game stayed on brand all the characters within the game are dressed in aussieBum gear, there are aussieBum signs on the wall, and the aussieBum version of Shearing the Rams can be seen in the background.
